With just 24 more days until our home opener at Old Mountain Field, our guys are continuing to impress at their universities. This week our players of the week are Justin Hackett, Samuel Fernandez, and Cooper Maher!
Our first co-hitter of the week, Justin Hackett from Bryant University, had a .462 batting average last week. The senior infielder had three hits in the Bulldogs' win against the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Hackett recorded a home run in Bryant's win against Merrimack and brought in three RBIs and three doubles in games last week.
Our second co-hitter of the week, Samuel Fernandez from Stetson University was a hitting machine last week, recording eight RBIs and three runs scored. The freshman catcher also hit two home runs across two games, both resulting in wins for the Hatters. Fernandez finished the week with a .375 batting average.
Cooper Maher from Northeastern University is our Pitcher of the Week. The Westerly native pitched five innings in the Huskies' win against Stony Brook. Maher allowed just one hit and zero runs while striking out two batters.
