May is finally here which means Waves Baseball is just around the corner!
It has been an impressive week for our players in their college seasons so far and this week we have not one, but two hitters of the week!
Our first co-hitter of the week is senior Justin Hackett from Bryant University. Hacket earned a season-high three hits and a season-high three RBIs during the Bulldogs game against the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He also recorded a home run during the three-game series. In Bryant's game against Holy Cross, Hackett earned himself a double, an RBI and a run. Across the four games, Hackett recorded a .353 batting average.
Our second co-hitter of the week is freshman Max Farrell from San Diego State University. The Aztecs are currently on an 11-game winning streak which Farrell helped contribute to last week with four RBIs, one run scored and three doubles. Farrell's batting average across the games was a .438.
For the third week in a row, Bryce McKnight is our pitcher of the week. Fellow Aztec from San Diego State University, pitched 4.1 innings, allowing just one earned run and five hits while striking out two players. McKnight also earned the honor of Mountain West Baseball Pitcher of the Week on April 27, for going 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 8.0 innings across two appearances against CSUN and Fresno State.
We are so excited to welcome these stars to the Ocean State this summer in just one month! For real-time updates on current and former Waves, be sure to follow us on Instagram and X @OceanStateWaves.
