The Ocean State Waves (7-16) snapped their seven-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Bristol Blues (11-12).
Entering the matchup looking to end a seven-game losing streak, the Waves struck first in the bottom of the third inning when Brodey Bitove drove in Owen Morgan with an RBI to give the home side a 1-0 lead.
The Blues answered in the top of the fourth as Jack Balcer launched a two-run home run to put Bristol ahead 2-1.
After starter Grant Wren exited, Max Marchetti took over on the mound but ran into trouble, loading the bases with no outs. The Waves turned to Eaton, who delivered the biggest sequence of the game. The senior from Princeton struck out two batters and escaped the jam without allowing a run, keeping the deficit at just one.
The Blues added another run to take a 3-1 lead, but the Waves responded with a four-run bottom of the fifth to take control of the game.
Max Farrell drove in a run before Gabriel Milano followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game. Jack LaRose then earned an RBI triple, and another Bristol error allowed Brodey Bitove to score as the Waves surged ahead 5-3.
The Waves added another run in the bottom of the eighth when Liam Flynn delivered an RBI to extend the lead to 6-3.
Eaton was dominant in relief, tossing four scoreless innings while striking out eight batters and allowing no earned runs. His escape from a bases-loaded, no-out jam proved to be the turning point and earned him the Player of the Game title for the Waves.
Bryant Yoak pitched a scoreless ninth inning to seal the victory.
The outing marked Eaton's final appearance with the Waves this summer as he departs due to upcoming previous commitments.
"I really love these guys and I've had a ton of fun this summer," Eaton said. "I think they'll turn it around, and I'll be excited to watch them and hopefully come back if I find the time."
The Waves will look to build on the win Saturday when they host the Newport Gulls in the Battle of the Bridge. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
