Back-to-Back 4-Run Innings Secure Waves' Fourth Win

Kayden Faulcon started on the mound for the Waves and pitched three innings, allowing six hits and three runs.
In the bottom of the first, Tommy Meluskey singled to left field with zero outs to advance Blaize Ward to second after he was hit by a pitch.
The Waves were able to load the bases with zero outs when Max Farrell stepped up to bat.
Farrell delivered with a sacrifice fly to bring Ward in to score. Shortly after, Jack LaRose had a sacrifice fly of his own to bring in Meluskey and give the Waves a 2-1 lead.
Charlie Saul delivered with a home run to bring in Brodey Bitove and give the Waves a strong 4-1 lead.
In the top of the second, Faulcon remained strong on the mound and so did the Waves offense with Meluskey making a strong catch to eliminate scoring chances for the Gulls.
In the bottom of the second, the Waves added another three runs to their lead following a strong double from Liam Flynn to bring Hackett in to score.
Bitove earned himself an RBI bringing in Ward to score to give the Waves a 7-1 lead.
The Waves batters stayed hot in the bottom of the second adding another run to the board to get back to back four run innings.
Newport responded in the top of third with a home run of their own from Gus Gandy.
Newport Gulls head coach got thrown out of the game after arguing the call of a ground ruled double. The Gull were able to add another run to bring the score to 8-3.
In the bottom of the third, Ward earned himself a two run home run bringing in Flynn to score and bring the Waves lead to 10-3.
The Waves continued on their hot hitting streak with Bitove doubling to left field and advancing to third after Farrell earned himself a walk.
Ocean State loaded the bases with two outs which brought up Saul who already earned himself a two run homer.
Saul delivered, bringing in Jack LaRose with another two run homer to give the Waves 15-5.
When the power went out in the press box, the Waves stayed hot to secure a 16-12 win over the Gulls.
The Waves look to continue their winning streak against the Martha's Vineyard Sharks with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.
